Weather cancelation! No Sunday morning worship or activities at Cambridge Lutheran Church, Sunday morning, March 10. Be safe! Join us for Pastor Emily's sermon via livestream at 10:00 a.m. on Facebook. (Instructions below.)
Yes, there WILL be Alpha on Sunday night, 5:30 p.m. in the Commons. Any of you may join us for dinner, fellowship and the teaching on "Why and How Do I Pray?"
Why cancel? The forecast for the late arrival and timing of the snow, the intensity of the snow, the prediction of ice (and "glaze" on the roads) from freezing rain mixed with the snow plus the high winds. Those elements combined with losing an hour due to daylight savings time have informed this decision even though the amount of snow may be smaller than originally forecast.
However, do not neglect to "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy." Begin your day with worship. Spend time in prayer. Read a passage of scripture. The gospel for Emily's sermon is Luke 4:1-13. Spend time in quiet meditation. Begin your Sunday with God's presence.
Livestream: Pastor Emily's sermon, "Wilderness" will be at 10:00 a.m. live-streamed on Facebook.
To see the livestream, go to our Facebook page which is found at:
For those who do not do Facebook, it will be posted by noon on our website on the Cambridge Lutheran website Media page.
If you wish to stay current on your offering, you may do so at our "Donate" tab below. If you've never been to this link, use this as an opportunity to see how it works:
Or you may give via Text Giving. Send a text to 763.325.1924. Complete a short one-time setup. Enter the amount you wish to give. Questions? Instructions are on the donate page. (Keeping up with all the snow removal is adding up and putting a dent in the budget!)
Many of the C-I area churches have been in conversation about plans for Sunday. We all want to err on the side of being safe. That said, as Paul Douglas said today about weather forecasting, "Predicting the future is a slippery slope into certain madness."
May you feel and experience God's presence today and this weekend.
